This lab details the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Quantity Workflow developed for the Summary of Quantity Reports required for the Estimated Quantities Report PDF. The participants will learn the use of FDOT and OpenRoads Designer tools
required in the workflow. This includes tools used to assign pay item information to 2D and 3D design elements, calculate quantities, and export quantity reports. This course also covers the Designer Interface Quantity Builder, used to generate
an XML file compatible for upload to Designer Interface for AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction.
Virtual Registration
The software checks and training lab will be hosted virtually through Microsoft TEAMS. Details for the software check will be included in the confirmation email. In order to participate fully, please be sure your software is up to date and that
the dataset is downloaded prior to the software check. You will receive links for updating in your confirmation email. The day before the event you will receive a TEAMS link to attend this virtual training lab and a digital
copy of the Course Guide will be provided. Software Checks will be on Monday, July 17th at two times: 9:00am and 1:00pm. Attendees must attend one of these time slots.
Prerequisites
FDOT Roadway Design and 3D Modeling – Basic 2D Rule Based Design Training is required. Participants need to have a basic understanding of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) using MicroStation, a basic understanding of OpenRoads Designer
concepts and a solid understanding of the engineering necessary to design a Roadway.
