Ensuring successful stakeholder (community) engagement is an essential element of any large engineering project, but especially where the contaminated property is of concern to local residents who share the surface and groundwater. Stakeholders can shape projects in the earliest stages by providing insight into the probably reaction to a project's outcome, facilitating project adjustments when necessary to win organizational support.

Mr. Albergo is a P.E and the founder and CEO of HSA Engineers & Scientists. With nearly 400 professionals, HSA was sold to GHD in 2012. Mr. Albergo is often called upon as an expert witness in litigation matters involving contaminant impact and cleanup. He remains on the engineering faculty at the University of South Florida. He holds patents in the area of bioremediation and has authored or co-authored over 185 publications.
