Course Description Port Tampa Bay is Florida’s largest port, supporting over 192,000 jobs and generating more than $34 billion in annual economic impact.
This 2-hour guided boat tour of the port, combined with onboard technical commentary, will immerse participants in the civil, coastal, geotechnical, structural, and resilient infrastructure challenges of operating a modern seaport. Emphasis will be
placed on the examination of marine intermodal engineering systems supporting Florida’s construction economy, namely bulk terminals for construction materials. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, attendees will observe real-world
marine and intermodal infrastructure and learn how sound engineering practice supports port operations, sustainability, and adaptation to climate risks. The tour combines real-world observation with professional instruction to deliver 2.0 PDH under
FBPE’s technical category.
