Lab Summary
This is a 1- day training course to learn the fundamentals of Template Design. Participants will learn basic and advanced knowledge of the Create Template dialog within Bentley OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition environment for design and modeling
within the FDOTConnect workspace. Most all of the Create Template dialog capabilities are included as follows:
- Template Library Basics
- Point and Component Properties
- Creating New Libraries, Folders and Templates
- Constraint Types/ Labels
- Current Template Window
- Horizontal Feature Constraints
- Template Preview Window

- End Conditions/ Targets/ Priorities
- Current/Active Template Tab
- Display Rules
- Dynamic Settings
- Testing Window
- Create /Modify/ Delete Components, Points, etc.
- Point Name and Component Name Overrides

This training lab will utilize the 2024 Course Guide and Dataset.
Virtual Registration
The software checks and training lab will be hosted virtually through Microsoft TEAMS. Details for the software check will be included in the confirmation email. Attendees will receive the Dataset Friday, April 19th. In order to participate fully, please
be sure your software is up to date and that the dataset is downloaded prior to the software check. The Software Checks will be held Tuesday, April 23rd, at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Attendees
need only to attend one of these time slots.
Prerequisites
Participants have a basic understanding of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) using MicroStation, a basic understanding of OpenRoads Technoloy concepts and a solid understanding of the engineering necessary to design a Roadway. In OpenRoads Designer
there is no longer any GEOPAK Functionality

Registrations may be refunded if cancellation is made at least 10 business days prior to the event. Cancellations
received after the cancellation cutoff will not receive a refund. Substitutions can be made at any time prior to the event date.
